All of her students have been admitted to prestigious Dance Universities and Companies or invited with scholarships in Junior Companies, such as Codarts, Artez, Acts, Alvin Aley, Conservatory of Madrid, Rambert School, Northern School, Junior Company Cannes, Nunzion Impellizzeri Dance Company, Theater Avignon.
Stefania Pigato trained in Italy and abroad, studying with Noelle Winkelman (classical-Geneva Academy), Matt Mattox (jazz), Joe Alegado (modern - Limon), Jan Marc Boitiere (member of contemporary exams - French State), Stephen Petronio (contemporary), Nicole Caccivio (partnering and contact improvisation).
She directs her company from 2000 to 2009, realizing various theatrical productions that are presented in many International Festivals and Theaters, including: Roesso Mondo (Padua), Opus Ballet (Florence), Vicenza Danza Festival (Vicenza), Pergine Spettacolo Open (Trento), Augenblicks Theater (Vienna), International Urban Dance Festival (Bologna).
She received a Critics Award from F. Bernabini, an Institutional Award from the City where she was born Thiene (VI), for the choreographic research in the contemporary dance and a worldwide Institutional Award from the Margot Fontayne Foundation for her important choreographic cpntribution and as a pioneer of dance in the pedagogical field, an Award inside the Riga Spring Competition 2023 (Latvia) for the artistic excellence in contemporary dance”. With the creation “The Exodus of the Soul” she obtained the recognition from the Ministry and from the European Commission. With the same creation she has been invited to the International Dance Gala in Giessen, with the press appreciation, and to the Gala in Cattolica, organized by ITA ON TOUR, alongside the Royal Ballet (London) and the Delattre Dance Company (Mainz). Other choreographies have been invited at the Stadttheater Bremerhaven Gala, directed by Sergei Vanaev (Germany) and the choreography Celeste is invited for an artistic presentation at the ArtEZ University of The Arts (Arnhem, Holland).
She develops a particular choreographic research that brings her closer to the creation of installations and site specific works, that are works aimed at the enhancement and interaction of architectural sites, urban and industrial spaces. With this idea, she creates some dance and architecture productions: Inauguration of the Farina Institute (Vicenza) renovated by the well- known architect Portoghesi (Director of the Venice Biennale), production of Pergine Spettacolo Aperto (Pergine Trento), Urban Dance Festival (Piazza Maggiore - Bologna) . Always in alternative- industrial spaces she creates choreographic performances for brands such as Police and Givenchy (International eyewear fair - Milan), Owl (Pitti moda - Florence), Prato expo (International textile fair - Leopolda station - Florence), Bioline (International cosmetics fair - Bologna), Andretto design (Reggio Emilia), Credem (Castello Felino - Parma).
Since 2005 she has been focusing on the technique and the methodology of contemporary dance, developing her own "PIGATO CONTEMPORARY" method, recognized and included by the Margot Fonteyn Academy as part of its worldwide curriculum, which is requested by many International schools and centers. She collaborates with Institutions and centers for the professional training of contemporary dance, for dancers and teachers: Opus Ballet (Florence), State Choreographic Academy Riga (Latvia), Agora Project (Reggio Emilia), Il Balletto (Castelfranco Veneto), Rambert School (UK). She’s in addition a tutor for the Royal Academy of Dance inside the Summer School of Royal Academy of Dance (Italy) and in training courses for teachers (Cpd), Ateneo della Danza di Siena and AICS.
Many of her choreographies, carried out at higher education schools, are awarded several times in International Competitions. She is invited as a jury member in competitions and as a teacher for auditions at International schools.
